Site Mission

To present the scientific literature, especially the human microbiome, in an unbiased, non-judgmental way to anyone interested and share my love of microscopic organisms. To cultivate a place on-line for exchange of information about tools, books, and resources for teaching microbiology-related topics. To educate and excite people about the microbial world while revealing the process of science and the scientists themselves. While doing this, I will share my personal experiences as a scientist-mama. For the blog, I’ll refer to my kids as “Jac” (the oldest) and “Emily” (the youngest), in honor of two of my most inspiring secondary education science teachers.
